This month, we shine the spotlight on Garland Zhu, a versatile and dedicated Network Engineer whose journey to TMGC is as creative as it is inspiring.
From Design to Diagnostics
Before joining The Millennium Group, Garland worked as a graphic designer, blending creativity and precision. Today, he brings that same thoughtful approach to his role at TMGC, where he “does a little of everything” from monitoring and troubleshooting computer and network issues to identifying problems and crafting solutions tailored to client needs.
Embracing Change
What Garland enjoys most about his role is being at the forefront of technological evolution. “Being able to witness and help implement the ever-growing technology changes for clients” is what fuels his passion and keeps him engaged.
Childhood Dreams & Life Lessons
When asked what he wanted to be as a child, Garland admits, “Honestly, never gave it much thought. Just went with the flow.” That open-mindedness has served him well, allowing him to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced industry.
Hobbies & Quirks
Outside of work, Garland enjoys hiking, cooking, playing video games, and building plastic models, a mix of adventure, creativity, and precision. One of his more unusual life experiences? Accidentally eating garlic-flavored watermelon. His advice: “Wash your cutting knives really well after cutting garlic. I do not recommend garlic flavored watermelon.”
Admiration & Inspiration
Garland credits his parents as the people he admires most: “Hardest working people I know.” Their example continues to guide his work ethic and values.
